This experience was a whirlwind of exciting, hilarious, overwhelming, rewarding, challenging, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. It went by so fast, and coming back to life at home was honestly a drag (no offense). I would one-hundred percent do it again if given the opportunity to do it over again.
I believe I first heard about student teaching abroad when at a pre-student teaching meeting.
An impact to my life...
This experience has given me the strength, motivation, and perseverance to do almost anything that I set my mind to. It has shown me that nothing is beyond my reach if I really, truly want it. I have nothing holding me back from dreams that I might have in the future. You have one life, and this is definitely the way to spend some of it.
My most valuable learning experience...
I learned the most from being thrown into a new environment and almost being expected to be independent and strong. It definitely made me grow more personally and mentally as a human being. I am more confident in traveling through and between countries, and I have been inspired to continue the traveling.
I will never forget...
The people and relationships I have formed from participating in this experience are by far the things that I will cherish forever. The memories and educational experience are things that will definitely take with me as I move forward; but the people you meet are what make it the experience so worth it.
A surprising discovery...
I was the most nervous about the huge differences in types of food that are eaten at every meal! I am a pretty picky eater to be honest, so it was a big concern of mine. After jumping in, the food has become one of the things that I found myself missing the most.
Advice for others...
Do it! Whatever hesitations you have or anything that is holding you back, do not let it. Really, its such a small portion of your life, you will 100% regret it if you do not do it!
