The College of Human Sciences is committed to offering a diverse portfolio of engaging, innovative, and sustainable study abroad experiences led by faculty and staff members who are experienced and knowledgeable about their program destination’s culture, activities, and local partners. Faculty and staff members interested in leading a program must complete a site visit as part of the program development process, and the CHS International Programs Committee offers the Site Visit Grant Program to assist potential leaders with fulfilling this requirement.
Two grants of up to $3,000 are available for the 2017-2018 application cycle. Applications are due on October 2, 2017 and funding for successful proposals must be expended by June 30, 2018.
Applications for site visit funding for summer 2018 programs will be considered only if the program is already being coordinated by the CHS International Programs Office. If you are interested in starting a new study abroad program, the earliest that could occur would be Thanksgiving Break 2018.
The CHS Site Visit Grant Program is separate from the CHS Rome Initiative.
Deadline: Proposals are due to Erin French by 5 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017. Recipients will be notified on or around November 1.
