The College of Human Sciences International Programs Office pleased to announce a new international initiative. The CHS Rome Initiative will create new short-term faculty-led study abroad programs in Rome, Italy in collaboration with the College of Design International Programs Office in Ames and with the College of Design’s Italian facility located in the heart of Rome.
The Iowa State University strategic plan has identified studying abroad as a high-impact educational activity, and the essence of the mission of the College of Human Sciences is to create, share, and apply knowledge to improve people’s lives with our college’s strengths in student-centered education and in global citizenship and collaboration. The CHS Rome Initiative supports the missions of the college and university by providing an opportunity for more CHS students to participate in a high-impact activity.
The CHS Rome initiative will:
- Create innovative and unique experiences abroad for CHS students
- Encourage additional study abroad experiences
- Utilize an ISU facility abroad with established support and services
- Provide opportunities to collaborate with other ISU colleges abroad
- Increase collaboration among CHS faculty and units
