Register interest to lead a study abroad program
Thanks for your interest in leading a College of Human Sciences study abroad program! The CHS International Programs Office asks that you register your interest to lead a program to aid overall strategic planning for international activities in the college and to assist with the development, promotion, and coordination of your study abroad opportunity. Registering interest is required for all new and repeat CHS study abroad programs.
Calls for interest in leading a study abroad program are based on the planned term of your proposed program, and there are multiple calls per year. Register your interest by completing a brief questionnaire at ISUAbroad.
Please contact Erin French, Director of International Programs, if you have any questions.
Proposing new programs or partnerships
Faculty or staff members interested in proposing a new study abroad program or international partnership should contact Erin French, Director of International Programs.
International activities funding opportunities
The College of Human Sciences offers a wide variety of grants and scholarships for faculty and staff proposing international activities. Review this list (PDF) for the opportunities available to you during this academic year.
Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) is an international health and emergency services plan for Iowa State University international business travel. Enrollment in this insurance plan is strongly recommended to faculty and staff members who are traveling internationally on ISU business because it provides services beyond what is in your domestic health insurance plan. The plan also covers medical evacuations, security evacuations, and repatriation. The CISI plan pays 100% of covered expenses without requiring a deductible, and there is no cost to you, to your department, or to the college because it is centrally funded. In addition, family members accompanying you on travel for ISU business purposes can also be covered (separate payment required). Please register your travel through the ISU travel portal approximately 2-3 weeks before departure to request CISI enrollment.
