Topic: Transitioning and Thriving in Graduate School

You are cordially invited to attend the first Creating the Academic Pipeline workshop entitled: Transitioning and Thriving in Graduate School! This workshop will be a panel of current staff and graduate students and the first workshop in the series will be held on Thursday, September 20 at 6:00pm in Mackay 001. It is designed with the intention of promoting the success of scholars of color as they move through graduate school and into faculty positions. This project intends to provide the tools and resources to support the unique needs of scholars of color and assist them in navigating their graduate experience. The workshop series will consist of 6 workshops:

  1. Transitioning and Thriving in Graduate School
  2. Navigating the Advisor/Advisee Relationship
  3. Finding Inspiration When There Is No Representation
  4. Techniques for Learning the Technical and Writing Skills for Your Field
  5. How to Critically Self-Reflect
  6. Positioning Yourself to Become a Faculty Member
