I was responsible for...
This past summer I was a sourcing specialist intern for Cameleon Jackets. One of my main jobs was to prepare and ship orders weekly to various boutiques across the United States. I was also in charge of keeping up with inventory and making sure it was up to date. I also utilized social media to to increase advertising exposure.
The greatest accomplishment from my experience in my opinion was increasing the social media exposure for the company. Before, the company rarely used social media by the time I left the company was posting at least one post on week on Facebook and Instagram.
I learned several things from this company but the major takeaway for me was what it was like to work for such a small company. I learned that every aspect is very hands on. It also meant that not everything is consistent some days brought about new challenges. Being able to work hands on with this small company was very beneficial.
Advice for others...
In my opinion it was very beneficial for me to complete an internship with a small company. I believe the experience I got was much more hands on. This allowed me to learn a lot but also learn more about what I wanted in a future career for myself. My advice would be if possible try to get an internship in a smaller company.
