I was responsible for...
Social Media and Marketing Intern: In charge of creating posts for the store's Social Media channels that will entice consumers. Making sure all daily tasks are accomplished and excellent customer service is provided. Maintain appealing visual displays of products to increase sales.
Creating posts that engaged consumer to comment and visit our store in order to purchase an item they had seen in the flat lay portrayed on Instagram. I received significant positive feedback from the owner and buyers about the impact my posts have made. It has changed the way many followers on Social Media perceive Bling! by showing products very favorably.
Thinking outside of the box when creating visual displays of products such as suspending hangers from the ceiling to display clothes on. By being able to take initiative and create a display based on my vision the store received a new front enticing consumers to enter the store instead of walking by.
Advice for others...
Be open to new experiences and take advantage of co-workers' and supervisors' knowledge. There are various different things to learn during an internship even in areas that may not have been an area of interest before. Furthermore, do not take working for a small business for granted as there are often great opportunities to take on significant responsibility.
