I was responsible for...
I was responsible for developing 2 unit plans for grade K-6 for physical education. I taught new skills and helped other students continue developing their skills for jump rope and track and field. I was also responsible for dealing with behavior and discipline issues as they arose during my full-time teaching.

I accomplished...
My greatest accomplishment from my experiences is how to connect to students. Seeing the students learn a new skill, after initally being frustrated. Talking with students and getting to know what is going on in their lives and using those to experiences to help them learn. I had a student that was super quiet, after teaching him about the weight room, I saw him become more confident and outgoing. That is one of my greatest accomplishments.

I learned...
My greatest lesson learned is to be patient. Some students really need more one on one and need someone to just listen to them. Being compassionate and empathetic with students are also lessons learned. I am still learning everyday and enjoy that part of the teaching profession.

Advice for others...
My advice to future students is to just have fun student teaching. Get to know the staff at the schools and pick their brains on classroom management, especially in the elementary setting. I would encourage talking and getting to know your cooperating teacher, they are your mentor and will help you in many situations.
