I was responsible for...
-Plan and implement after school curriculum once a week -Support and advocate for children and families in shelter -Meet 1:1 with clients on caseload -Contribute to the administrative and functional tasks of the workplace

I accomplished...
Planning and implementing activities for children and youth throughout the week of spring break.

I learned...
Conflict resolution in a professional team setting is essential to a healthy work environment. Although we worked in different branches of one organization, our efforts all impacted the clients and it was imperative that we practiced clear and effective communication as a staff team.

Advice for others...
Take initiative, be assertive, communicate your ideas to your supervisor. Your internship is what you make of it so don’t be afraid to reach out, shadow staff, and try new things!
