I was responsible for...
Create a generic sexual assault support group Lead one of the support group meetings Organize client files Reach out to businesses about partnering Shadow client meetings Oversee my clients - secondary victims Create posts for social media Shadow at human trafficking meetings Shadow at court

I accomplished...
Creating the sexual assault support group and then being able to be apart of it actually happening was the greatest accomplishment because I got to see all my hard work come to life.

I learned...
The greatest lesson I learned from my experience was that we cannot rely on the justice system to do the right thing - we have to do it ourselves and fight for it and for those that can't fight for themselves. I also learned that, in human services especially, each day is different and to just roll with it because more often than not, it's not going to go how you expect it to.

Advice for others...
Work really hard. Do your best, and it'll pay off, and you'll have more respect for yourself in the end for doing it. You'll also get way more out of you internship if you actually care about what you're doing.
