I was responsible for...
Greeting and providing excellent assistance to customers was our main focus being a small gift shop. Other activities included, completing and processing purchase orders, invoices, and incoming inventory into our database, ensuring aesthetically pleasing and organized retail environment, and analyzing fiscal year budget and tracking weekly spending.

I accomplished...
Working with the buyer to tear down and create new displays. It was very rewarding to see all our vision and hard work come to life.

I learned...
Getting insight from the buyer on how and why she does something. I learned a lot about creating eye catching displays that are aesthetically pleasing and push the sales of merchandise.

Advice for others...
Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you don't ask questions, it's a lot harder to learn new things and gain insight on topics you might not otherwise. Your employer won't always know when you don't understand something or want to increase your knowledge on a topic. The more questions you ask, the more engaging and beneficial the internship will be.
