Conducting interviews on patients with an infectious disease, contacting medical facilities for information, conducting site visits where the facility was involved with a possible outbreak, and providing health education and preventive measures to patients.
I will never forget...
When my team member and I discovered there was an outbreak occurring at a facility. I had worked on other outbreaks before this particular one; however, that moment of connecting links and problem solving was when I knew I had made the right choice in my career. It was so refreshing, exciting, nerve-racking, and rewarding to be able to investigate an outbreak because the end result was finding the source.
