I was responsible for...
My internship was a technical design internship so I performed the following: -Developed block patterns -Measuring production samples -Pattern correction/ manipulation -Prepared sample fit comments, photos, measurements

I accomplished...
In my time with Draper James, I was able to complete 2 full block patterns for the company to send out to all of their companies to use as basic patterns for all the styles we create. It was a really neat process to go through initial draping, patterning, sample making and live fittings in which I was the technical designer and made all the calls on how the garment was constructed.

I learned...
I think the biggest thing I learned from my internship is how to truly be a technical designer. I had a lot of opportunities to sit in on meetings, work with factories, and work on garments most importantly. My internship gave me lots of opportunity to work as a technical designer so it was a very fulfilling experience.

Advice for others...
Your internship is all about what you make it. So, you may have responsibilities, but also be curious, ask questions and seek opportunity. You choose how your internship goes so make the most of it.
