I was responsible for...
My responsibilities during my internship were to work with families and help them get connected to services. It could be anything from getting children bike helmets to connecting someone with counseling services .

I accomplished...
My accomplishment was that I accepted a Job working at VNS of Iowa . The Organization believes I did so well they want more ISU with my child, adult and family services degrees.

My most valuable effort...
Helping a family living in a financial hardship get basic items needed to help them feel hope things will get better. Even something as basic as full-filling hygiene needs can make someone feel better. We take small things like hygiene and having food and clean clothes and a car for granted . There are families who really have nothing .

I learned...
The most valuable experience I had was learning that people from all walks of life have problems and we all need help.

I will never forget...
The most memorable experience I had when working was when a mother Thanked me sincerely for helping her family.

A surprising discovery...
I did not expect to also be working helping families that are considered middle class , needing help as well.

Advice for others...
be open to all experiences , if you like it or not you'll always learn something.

I first learned about this career-building experience from...

I landed this assignment by...
by contacting HR from VNS and they sent an email out to get me connected to a program that might want an intern.
