I was responsible for...
My responsibilities were to compile and validate technical documents for food ingredients, prepare bench top samples, conduct shelf-life tests, and assist with plant runs.
Over the course of my internship, I was able to use the updated the technical documentation that I obtained to update the nutrition and ingredient information that is used for product labels for a large amount of the sourced ingredients.
I gained a lot of experience with auditing labels by working with suppliers and vendors to obtain correct technical documentation for ingredients. I also gained experience in the process of product development in a manufacturing plant.
Advice for others...
My advice would be to be open all the opportunities that may arise because it will allow for more learning opportunities.
