I was responsible for...
I was responsible of helping plan, coordinate and run various public health events through the MPRB aquatics program. A list of tasks I had to do were the following: -e-mails about events, scheduling, problems, questions -Scheduler for beaches/programs -Helped prepare/run staff orientations/in-services -Attended meetings regarding events -Prepare/organize for events I was responsible for the open swim club event that was ongoing weekly, the North Commons swim camp, North commons pool party, The worlds largest swim lesson, and events such an ice cream socials where I would advertise for our swim lessons and hand out donated swim suits and scholarships for swim lessons.

I accomplished...
The greatest accomplishment from my experience was being able to help the kids in North Minneapolis. North Minneapolis is a very low income community. Many of the events I was responsible took place over there and I was able to educate, provide and enhance the kids opportunities in aquatics.

I learned...
I learned a lot from my internship but I learned the most by creating an agenda for the North Commons swim camp and implementing the agenda. It made me gain skills in planning, organization, communication and time management. I also learned a lot by observing my intern supervisor, Sarah Chillo. I was able to work with her often and she is amazing dealing with all types of situations. She always stayed calm and handled every situation in an appropriate way.

Advice for others...
I advice not to procrastinate finding an internship. I loved working for the MPRB and Sarah but I made sure to find this organization in advance. I do not know if I would have had such a great experience if I would have been scrambling to try to find an internship in time.
