I was responsible for...
My job responsibilities while interning at Polk Country Crisis and Advocacy Services were: 1. Shadowing other advocates to court cases, star cases, sexual assault calls, and other cases. 2. Answering calls at the front desk and directing them to the right advocate or taking messages. 3. Entering cases in the computer system. 4. Attending public events like college career fair, awareness walks, education events, and training events. 5. Being on call overnights or on the weekends and responding to a case within 30 minutes of the call. 6. Filing, organizing, making copies, sending faxes, and doing other office work if needed. 7. Attending all staff meetings and trainings.
My greatest accomplishment while interning at Polk County Crisis and Advocacy Services would be working with victims of child abuse/sexual assault. Having the opportunity to help, support, and comfort them during a terrible time has been very rewarding.
The greatest lesson I learned while interning at Polk County Crisis and Advocacy Services, is how to communicate professionally with co-workers, clients, and other agencies.
