Career Exploration DaysCareer Exploration days provide prospective and admitted undergraduate students and their families an in-depth look at a College of Human Sciences major and its related career opportunities. Participants will:
Career Exploration Days focus on the following career interests: Food Science and Human Nutrition Day: March 6, 2012 — Take an inside look at careers and majors working with food and nutrition, diet and exercise, and food product development. Interact with current students and faculty members and participate in hands-on workshops. Hospitality and Event Management Day: March 5, 2012 — Learn about managing clubs, resorts, hotels, and restaurants, as well as tourism and event planning. Endless Opportunities Day (Family and Consumer Sciences): March 5, 2012 — Explore the wide variety of career opportunities related to education, community leadership, and consumer issues. This visit is appropriate for students with a broad-based understanding of family and consumer sciences. Human Development and Family Studies Day: March 5, 2012 — Discover how aspiring professionals learn to address the daily challenges of families and individuals through the life span. Behind the Scenes Day (Apparel, Merchandising, and Design): April 13, 2012 — Attend the dress rehearsal for the 29th annual Iowa State University Fashion Show; hear from our guest designer about the world of fashion; talk to students who have interned in New York; and experience one of our best-known events! Education Day: April 20, 2012 — “Caring, competent, and certified” are the three “C’s” of teaching you will explore during this teacher education career day. Learn about teacher licensure and education-related majors, observe Lab School classes, and discuss classroom diversity. Registration
