WebCT

WebCT is a web based program for the design, delivery and management of online courses and course components. Accounts can also be set up for non-course related use. A login and password are required for WebCT and the account owner must add you into the list of registered users. WebCT requires specific software settings and programs to operate correctly. Course design assistance is available from the college and from ISU CELT. Students should contact the Solution Center for technical assistance, or their instructor for content and class policy assistance.

Respondus and Study Mate

Respondus is a Windows OS application that ISU has licensed. It is used to develop quizzes that can be printed to paper or imported to WebCT. It can also be used to export quizzes, answer keys, and question pools from WebCT into Word-compatible files.

StudyMate is a Windows OS application that ISU has licensed. It is used to create many different interactive Flash-based learning activities that can be added to a WebCt course or used on their own.

Adobe Acrobat

Adobe Acrobat is used to create PDF files - a file format that is easily viewed on multiple operating systems and is commonly used on the web. PDF files are not easily modified by the viewer. Passwords can be added to PDF files to further restrict modification and viewing.

Adobe Connect

Adobe Connect (a.k.a. Macromedia Breeze) is a secure web-based application for hosting and recording live meetings and providing playback of recorded materials. It can be used in conjunction with WebCT or on its own. ISU Extension has several recorded online tutorials, which are linked below:
