WebCT GOLD: Adding Links to External Websites (Web Links)

Course builders who wish to add a URL link, i.e. a link
to an external website, to a specific folder (menu page) in their WebCT
course must first add the link to the Web Links directory. Once it
exists within Web Links, it can be copied to a folder (menu page)
or learning module. If desired, the Web Links directory can be hidden from student view.
Adding Web Links directory:
If the course does not yet include a Web Links
tool, it must be added as follows:
- In Build mode, click Manage Course
- Click Tools
- Under the "Content Tools" subheading, check Web Links
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save
Adding an external website link:
- In Build mode, click Web Links..
- Click Create Web Link and complete the form.
- It is not necessary to provide a description of the linked site.
- Click either Save or Save and Create Another.
Adding Web Link to a folder page:
- In Build mode, go to page where you want the link to appear.
- Pull down the Add Content Link, click Web Link, and select the link to add.
- Switch to the Student View tab and
verify that the link is located and acts as expected.
