WebCT GOLD: Releasing Grades to Students

To release a WebCT grade book column you must have instructor access rights to the WebCT account. If you do, you will see a tab labeled TEACH in the upper left corner of the course homepage.

To release a grade book column to student view:

1. Click on TEACH tab
   

2. Click on GRADE BOOK (left side column)
   

3. Click on GRADE BOOK OPTIONS (upper right corner, above data table)
   

4. Select COLUMN SETTINGS
   

5. There is one property row called "Released to students:" that is set to YES or NO for each column individually. It is the topmost of the two data cells that contains either Yes or No (you'll need to remember this as you scroll over). To change a NO to a YES, click on the NO, and vice versa.
   

   • If you want to release several columns at once, click on the squares ABOVE the desired column headers then scroll to left and click the RELEASE button on the bottom left corner of the data table

   • Be forewarned that there is a DELETE button right next to the RELEASE button ... be careful about which button you click.
     

6. Always verify that the desired columns are showing by switching to STUDENT VIEW tab.

   • Students will only see their own grades.
