WebCT GOLD: Accessing WebCT

To access courses offered through the WebCT software system, a user must ...

1. have a high speed Internet connection (dial up modem is too slow),

2. have a supported web browser,

3. have the proper Java/JavaScript and cache settings in the web browser,

4. have an ISU net ID and password or have been given an exception ID and password from the instructor,

5. know how to access the WebCT login page, and

6. the instructor must add the student to the WebCT course (this is not the same as registering for the course).

JAVA requirements for WebCT GOLD are explained at http://www.celt.iastate.edu/webct/java.html. (Most problems are due to have more than one version of Java installed or having an incompatible version installed.)
