Microsoft Office 2007: Disappearing Vertical Scroll Bar

Problem:

Vertical scroll bar is no longer visible on Word document file.

 

Solution:

1. Click the round multi-colored circle icon, , in upper left corner of Word. When you do this, a popup menu should display with the commands “New page, Open, Convert…” etc.
   
   
2. Click the “Word Options” (or "Excel Options", or "PowerPoint Options" - name depends on program) link that appears on the bottom of the pop-up menu. A new "Options" window appears.
   
   
3. Click the “Advanced” link in left hand menu.
   
   
4. Scroll down the right pane to the “Display” section and find the “Show vertical scroll bar”. Place a checkmark in the box beside this option by clicking on the box.
   
   
5. Click the OK button on the bottom of the window. The vertical scroll bar should now display in your document.
