Program Description:

The Master of Family and Consumer Sciences (MFCS) comprehensive degree option covers a variety of family and consumer sciences subject matter. It is a non-thesis degree.

Students have the flexibility to design a program of study that best meets their professional goals. In lieu of a thesis or creative component, the student prepares a final paper and takes an oral final integrative exam.

The MFCS-comprehensive program may be completed either on-campus or on-line. Students typically complete the program in three years while employed full time. A computer with minimum specifications, web access, and an email address are required to complete the program on-line.

The MFCS program also has two Web-based specialization program tracks: Family Financial Planning and Gerontology. MFCS-comprehensive students may select courses from these specialization tracks when designing their program of study.
