Admission: Application procedures

 

Students may apply in any semester. Iowa State University's admission process is self-managed, which means that applicants are responsible for collecting their application and all supporting materials (academic records, letter of recommendation, etc.) in a single package and sending it to the university. This ensures a more timely processing of materials.

Students seeking admission at Iowa State University will need to:

  1. ONLINE: Complete an application for Admission to the Iowa State University Graduate College. (http://www.admissions.iastate.edu/apply/index.php)

  2. ONLINE: Pay the campus application fee (part of the Admission process in step #1).

  3. MAIL: Submit official transcripts of all college work completed to date to the Office of Admissions (see address below).

  4. MAIL or ONLINE: Provide three letters of recommendation from professional or educational sources. (These can be sent through the mail or submitted online during the application process.)

  5. MAIL: Send a brief resume, goal statement and department application form (Word file)

When all the application materials have been received, the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences graduate committee will review your request for admission to the MFCS-Gerontology program and will contact you about their decision within 6-8 weeks.
