A little fun with copyright .....



Concepts & Resources:

Copyright - a legal protection to the authors of "original works of authorship," including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other works. The copyright owner has the exclusive right to control and authorize reproduction, distribution and transformation of the work.

Fair Use - the legal concept that allows for the use of a copyrighted work for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research without the need for permission from the copyright owner.

Plagiarism - the use of someone's information, ideas, phrasing, product (computer code, images, audio, etc.) without providing credit to the developer or copyright owner.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) - a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records, including work created by students.
