Inaugurated in 2008, the Another Advance in STEM Education news series highlights initiatives led by faculty in the College of Human Sciences. Each issue represents another facet of the College of Human Sciences's deep commitment to expanding human potential and improving people's lives by advancing STEM education.

STEM education. The future of humankind depends on the critical task of preparing, attracting, and retaining outstanding leaders in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). And, regardless of the professions they eventually choose, all learners will elevate the quality of their lives by becoming more proficient in the subject areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. With a number of education and STEM graduate programs ranked among the top 20 public programs in the nation, Iowa State University and its College of Human Sciences are readily recognized for excellence in STEM education. Through outstanding achievements in PreK-16 STEM education, the College of Human Sciences is helping to fill the "pipeline" of tomorrow's STEM leaders. The college is improving educational strategies, methods, and practices that help students understand STEM subject matter more deeply and apply it more effectively. |
