ISU begins search for College of Human Sciences, Extension to Families administrator

AMES, Iowa — An Iowa State University committee that will search for the next associate dean of the College of Human Sciences and director of Extension to Families has been named by Pamela White, interim dean of the College of Human Sciences, and Jack Payne, vice president for Extension and Outreach. White said the goal is to name an individual who will serve as the new associate dean and director by Aug. 10, 2009.
 
Gerald Miller, associate dean for extension programs and outreach in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and director of Extension to Agriculture and Natural Resources, will serve as chair of the search committee.
 
The successful candidate will succeed JaneAnn Stout who retired Nov. 3. Jeanne Warning is serving as interim director of Extension to Families.

Extension to Families works in partnership with other organizations and agencies to meet the needs of Iowa families with research based education related to aging, child care, consumer decisions, family financial management, family relationships, food safety, housing choices, nutrition and health, parent education and public policy affecting families. Extension specialists on the Iowa State campus and in every Iowa county provide information and assistance to families across the lifespan.
