Council president announces Fall Senior Week activities, Oct. 27-30

Led by Kylie McCarthy, a junior in child, adult, and family services, Iowa State University’s Senior Class Council will host talks for students preparing to transition to the work world, offer free treats, and pass out gifts to seniors, as part of Fall Senior Week, Oct 27-30.

Events will kick off with a brown bag talk by Kathy Wieland, program coordinator in business career services, who will offer advice for job seekers, Tuesday, Oct. 27, noon-1 p.m., in the Memorial Union Gallery. Students are welcome to take their lunch to eat during the talk. Some refreshments will be provided.

The council will serve free breakfast pizza, compliments of Casey’s General Stores, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 9-11 a.m., on central campus.

Doug Borkowski, director of the ISU Financial Counseling Clinic, will offer advice about managing personal finances, Wednesday, Oct. 28, noon-1 p.m., Memorial Union Gallery. Students are welcome to take their lunch to eat during the talk. Some refreshments will be provided.

Council members will serve free cookies and lemonade on Thursday, Oct. 29, 12:30-2:30 p.m., on central campus.

Watch for Cy, who will pass out souvenirs to seniors, Friday, Oct. 30, on campus.
