Established in 2006, the Dean's Research Recognition Awardh has been bestowed annually to recognize outstanding bodies of collaborative research that crosses departmental lines. Honorees are nominated by their departments and selected by the dean.

The Dean's Research Recognition Reserve Award was established this year to honor those who were nominated by their academic departments and met the high standards for the awards. "It's like at the fair, when you've won your class," said Achterberg.
