Iowa State University student named National Teacher of the Year by AAFCS
Naef recognized for program that pairs special education students with "regular" education students
A graduate student in family and consumer sciences education at Iowa State University has been named the year's best K-12 teacher in her chosen field by a national association. Kendra Naef has been named National Teacher of the Year for 2007 by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
The award credits Naef, a teacher, for developing a popular program at her local high school that teams special education students with "regular" education students. The program is designed to improve appreciation for students with special needs and provide them with academic role models. More.
