	Create a video clip or animation designed to entice prospective students to consider programs (or a program) in the College of Human Sciences. Win cash prizes starting at $5,000 for first place. Videos will be featured on the College’s website and in other venues. We're looking for "cool"or "funky" stuff that we might never have thought of. After all, who knows the student experience better than students? Deadlines March 1, 2008 – Please register your intent to enter by this date so we can be sure to keep you informed of contest updates. To register, email hscomm@iastate.edu. April 1, 2008 – All entries due by 5 p.m. May 1, 2008 – Winners will be announced Eligibility Each team must include at least one Iowa State University student. Submissions by individuals are also welcome, providing you are an Iowa State University student. Content The College of Human Sciences is ready to spice things up with a FUN, cutting edge (think YouTube) video to promote the college or a program within the college to prospective students. We also encourage you to include credits at the end of your video so you can receive credit where it’s due. (Figure these into your runtime.) Judging Judges will include students, faculty, and staff. Work will be judged on relevance, attitude, creativity, effectiveness, accuracy, and image and sound quality. Preference will be given to videos that encompass the entire scope of college programs over those featuring one or two. Prizes 1^st Place - $5,000* 2^nd Place - $ 3,000* 3^rd Place - $ 2,000* Prizes will be divided evenly among the names listed on the submission form. Go ahead. Give it a try. Remember, you can't win if you don't enter! Submission* In your submission, include: 1) Submission form with names, signatures, and contact information for all contributors 2) The final version in two working stages: before exportation exported version Submissions must be made no later than Tuesday, April 1 by 5 p.m. Deliver signed submission form and both versions of the media to E102 Lagomarcino Hall Monday-Friday between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. If office is not open, deliver to E104 Lagomarcino or E262 Lagomarcino. File Formats For "before exportation" version: DV, DVCAM, DVCPro, AVI, MPEG For exported version: MOV, MPEG, AVI, WMV, .FLV Quality High quality, best compression type (H.264 preferred) Stereo Channel for Audio Minimum screen size of 640 x 480 Run Time Short is good. Max imum duration/runtime is 10 minutes Important The College of Human Sciences reserves exclusive rights to use any and all footage for promotional use. Judges reserve the right to refrain from awarding prize money in the case that no entries are deemed suitable. Videos must follow US copyright laws.
