Governance documentDec. 9, 2008, The College of Human Sciences Governance Document has been approved by a majority vote of eligible faculty. Through an online voting process, which began on Oct. 30 and ended at noon on Nov. 6, a total of 40 votes were cast, with 95% votes in the affirmative for approval/adoption. Thirty-eight votes were cast in the affirmative and two were cast in the negative. There were no abstaining votes. The document was subsequently approved by the Faculty Senate, and then approved and adopted by Elizabeth Hoffman, executive vice president and provost on Dec. 9. The College of Human Sciences Governance Document Committee members worked with faculty and staff to create the governance document. Committee members solicited input college-wide from faculty and staff in person, via email, and at open forums. With that input, they wrote the final draft document, which has now approved by the College. Committee members were: John Schuh, Dianne Draper, Robert Bosselman, Suzanne Hendrich, Greg Welk, Connie Hargrave, Carl Smith, David Whaley (ex-officio), and Dee Anna Bechtel (committee support). The Governance Document Committee wishes to thank the many individuals and groups that contributed to the creation of the first-ever CHS Governance Document.
