David_MenaName: David Mena
Year: Junior
Major: Dietetics

Bio: I’m David Mena, the Undergraduate Assistant for Multicultural Programming. I’m from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and I am majoring in Dietetics here at Iowa State. My goal is to lead by example, sharing experiences to prove that you can achieve anything with the resources and support our university has to offer, all while having fun in the process! I like to spend time with friends: rollerblading, dancing, attending events on campus (especially if you have to dress-up), eating everything in sight, and watching movies together. Regardless of my major and student involvement on campus, I know that everything I do will open up new doors in the future and I’m going to show you how to get there!

Advice for Incoming Students: Make yourself get involved with SOMETHING, anything, really. Going home every weekend will only set you back from making new friends. Just remember that the majority of new students are feeling all the same feelings you are, and it’s ok to connect with them on these feelings. Even by simply attending your residence hall meetings, you’re bound to cross paths with someone who will end up being your friend.
