Prospective and current parents, Iowa State University students, educators and other professionals, and the general public are invited to visit the laboratory school programs by contacting the Child Development Laboratory School using the following sources:

Arrangements for program and facility tours, presentations and observations in specific programs are available upon advance request, usually two weeks. All visiting guests to the Child Development Laboratory School are expected to report to 0351 Palmer HDFS Building, office of the Parent Coordinator, when they arrive. Please read the Observer Etiquette Guide before visiting. Parking permits and other services related to visitors are available in the same office.
- Research Request. Iowa State faculty and students who are interested in conducting research in the Child Development Laboratory School should contact Dr. Gayle Luze, Faculty Coordinator, 51B LeBaron (515/294-4045 or gluze@iastate.edu) who will review the procedures and proposed study. To obtain the form, Request for Authorization to Conduct Research in the Child Development Laboratory School, contact Ms. Malisa Rader, Parent Coordinator, 0351 Palmer HDFS Building (515/294-3040). This completed form should be submitted to Ms. Karri Kerns, Administrator, at least two weeks prior to the starting date.
- ISU Student Requests for Teaching-related Projects. Students who are interested in developing a course-related project with children in the laboratory school should contact Ms. Malisa Rader, Parent Coordinator, 0351 Palmer HDFS Building (515/294-3040) to obtain the form, Request for Authorization to Conduct Teaching-Related Projects in the Child Development Laboratory School. This form should be submitted to Ms. Karri Kerns, Administrator, at least one week prior to the starting date. Approved projects will be supervised by the head teacher in the specific program.
- Recruit Request. Persons who are interested in recruiting families from the Child Development Laboratory School for research or projects school should contact Ms. Malisa Rader, Parent Coordinator, 0351 Palmer HDFS Building (515/294-3040) to obtain the form, Request for Authorization to Recruit in the Child Development Laboratory School. This form should be submitted to Ms. Karri Kerns, Administrator, for approval.
- Photo/Videotape Request. Persons who are interested in taking photos or videotaping should contact Ms. Malisa Rader, Parent Coordinator, 0351 Palmer HDFS Building (515/294-3040) to obtain the form, Request for Photography, Audio-taping, or Video-taping. This completed form should be submitted to the Parent Coordinator least one week prior to the date.
All visits, requests for teaching-related projects and research requests, and student placements are coordinated through a master calendar maintained by Ms. Kerri Kerns, Administrator, Child Development Laboratory School.
