Iowa State University Award for Early Achievement in Academic Advising

 

This award recognizes outstanding performance by an academic advisor early in his or her career. A $1,500 award is granted.

Thye has been a dedicated advisor for students in the Apparel Merchandising, Design and Production program since 2003. She has been responsible for, and adviser to, many of the innovations in the program related to advising services and extracurricular activities, including the "Common Threads" learning community, an internship and career preparation class, the student magazine and many service learning activities. With her extensive background in business, she has contributed to many classes and provided valuable advice to students as a career counselor. She is a strong advocate for academic excellence and diversity in the department and the university.
