Lori M. ReesorOutstanding Young AlumnusBy the ISU Alumni AssociationTo recognize alumni of Iowa State University for remarkable early career achievement.
As Dean of Campus Life at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, Lori Reesor provides leadership for housing and residence life, community and multicultural programs, Greek affairs, recreation services, counseling, health services, and career services. She is also the student conduct officer and assumes responsibility for the Division of Student Affairs in the Vice President’s absence. After earning a masters degree in higher education from Iowa State University in 1987, and receiving ISU’s prestigious Research Excellence Award for her thesis, Ms. Reesor began an administrative career at the University of Kansas, where she worked for ten years. While there, she served in several supervisory roles in the areas of admissions, student orientation, residence halls and educational services, and earned a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership. In 1989, KU honored her with the Outstanding Service in Student Affairs Award. Dr. Reesor left KU in July to assume her current position. Dr. Reesor is most active in the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), which recognized her as the organization’s Outstanding New Professional in 1990. She continues to coordinate several regional conferences and programs. Reesor was named the ISU College of Education’s Outstanding Young Professional Alumnus in 1997. |
