President of Landscape Structures, Inc., a multi-million dollar business that designs and makes outdoor play and recreational components, Barbara King is a talented and resourceful businesswoman. She and her husband started the business in their home 27 years ago. Today, their play equipment is found throughout the world. King runs a family-friendly workplace, demonstrating care and concern for her employees.

In 1994, the Small Business Administration honored her as both the Minnesota and regional Small Business Person of the Year. She was selected Entrepreneur of the Year for Minnesota in 1992 and received honorable mention for National Entrepreneur of the Year. Active in her community as well, King is vice chair of the Minnesota Volunteers of America and has served as president of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
