Responsibilities

The responsibilities in my experience looked different each day. I assisted in the the maintenance of the online website by editing the content online to become shopped by our customers. I worked closely in Photoshop to resize and edit backgrounds of images to go on to the website, and then enter the information of the product into an Excel worksheet. Each week I would process returns and check in packages while maintaining relationships with companies. Meanwhile, I assisted and worked on preparing for that months photo shoots and would help create the image for what the fashion editors were going for. I organized affiliate reports, affiliate product uploads, requested and sent out messengers, organize the website and upload content, as well as creating the styling stories to go up on the page. I was also in charge of helping the fashion directors in finding relevant garments for the photo shoots. The best part was that I was always learning something new everyday.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment that I had from my internship experience would be that I got to know each and every single person on my team at my work place. That feels like an accomplishment to me because the more they knew me, the more they knew I could handle and the greater of tasks they entrusted me with and gained more respective for me that way. In saying that, the greatest accomplishments through all of those things would be the time that they trusted me to train in our other intern who arrived a few weeks after me. They knew at that point I could handle something as important as that. Then, they had also asked me what they think they should do when a certain problem had came up and I gave them my opinion and it ended up being just what we needed.

What advice would you give?

My advice to future students would be to take every opportunity that you can. If you put yourself out there and go out of your comfort zone then you will experience more things that you might not have before. Be persistent and create a brand for yourself while staying true to who you are.
